Aidez - moi! Am I a Francophile?

by plowe @ 2007-09-09 - 23:04:15

I subscribe to France Magazine every month.
I dream in French.
You say OMG. Je dit 'Mon Dieu'!
I am a huge romantic about La Vie en France.
I have a big collection of foreign films, mostly French.
I happily spend two plus hours perfecting a short email to a friend who speaks French.
I eat French cheese for breakfast along with assorted meats and croissants and pain au chocolat with a big bowl of coffee.
I revel in anything remotely connected with L'Hexagon.
I enjoy a glass or two of wine as long as it is French.
I have an extensive collection of French music.
You say HMV. I say FNAC.
UK politics have no interest to me but French one's do.
I love French culture.
'Tranquil' is one of my favourite words.
I love the smell of Lavender and the sound of cicadas.
I often have a frog in my throat and when passing Le McDonalds call out ... Rosbifs!
Snails are my favourite movable snack.
I am growing my ears to look like Serge Gainsbourg.
If I smoked I would do so whilst eating.
The world is garlic shaped.
Please tell me if there is a cure for Francophila so I can avoid it?

Philippe

Personally, I'm not sure blog world is ready for such intimate personal confessions, but in answer to your question - there is no cure! In deepest sympathy. :) Le James.

My (French) girlfriend has lent me 'Talk to the Snail' which is a very funny insight into French culture by Stephen Clarke of 'A Year in the Merde' fame. If you haven't already read it, I suggest you do. :)

PS.. can I add another one to your list? "You say 'MackeeDees', I say 'McDo!'" ;)
