Remember: the art of procrastination is something you can always put off until tomorrow.

This last week has been a bit wierd coming to terms with redundancy from a certain big Credit Card company. When I left the building ( like an understated Elvis) last Friday night I was dealing with mixed emotions of realising my role had finished and once out of the door I would never enter their hallowed portals again.

I also was saying 'goodbye' to some good mates too. I had been there on the phones advising about credit card bills for five years and in March this year I was becoming pretty fed up with my job. April came around with an announcement of 750 job losses.

To me this was an opportunity to rethink what I want to do at the age of 52. I have decided to go into teaching English as a foreign language and work on my writing skills. I have a play being performed in December which I have written - an adaptation of A Christmas Carol.All things to enjoy and look forward to.

I have no axe to grind with my former employer as they have actually been very supportive in organising funds for re-training and a fair redundancy package alongside job fairs at work. Saying that,the final weeks at work have been very stressful and I think this week has been a time to adjust and regroup my energies rather than going mad launching my creative self into self made 'projects' as is my nature.

No longer do I have to do everything at the weekend.Hurrah!

Confucious apparently said that 'If you have a job you can be passionate about then you never have to work another day in your life. To such a life, here I come.
