A fractured hip probably wasn't the fun that he was intending I'm guessing. I hate it when incidents like this happen to hold everyone up, like when people selfishly throw themselves onto train tracks for suicide and then the trains are delayed while the remains are removed! I can imagine Nottingham of all places being busy that time of year with p more…

Nice memories!
Can't say Leo ever rocked my boat. But he is a part of my youth too certainly.
But my better half and I are begged to do our Bohemian Rhapsody performance at Christmas by our neighbours - for a laugh I must point out. We all have to be quite drunk - us to perform and them to endure the noise!
Take a look at Newton more…

Hey, happy birthday! Glad you're up for it. Your problem is making yourself accesible to people too young. You need to find a site with really old people, who will view you as a young, crazy, desirable guy. I already do. hubba, hubba! (Oooh, shit! Does that date me?) more…

Yes, comfort DVDs! After a day at our respecive desks working from home we need a laugh! At the moment it's Frasier - we're on Series 3. Or.. not very comfortable but very compelling - it used to be 24, until they started to get so implausible.
I prefer to come across cookery programmes rather than get the video, but I do really really like more…

My partner is a writer and has just persuaded my 91 year old mother to give him her old typewriter. She wouldn't be able to even tap the keys anymore but was still pathetically sad at letting it go. (She never was a good typist, but she does like writing.) Apparently he can't write creatively in the same way on the computer - which I don't get as m more…

I get really excited. I went out this morning to the Post Office but I took my camera just in case. But here it wasn't settled enough to make good shots and I was too cold and busy to stop anyway.
We were living in Florence in 1984 when there was an incredible snowy winter. I took photos of the frozen Arno, and the fountains with ice. more…

I was brought up in the country, next to a farm. And the cows came home every evening past our house. So I thought...
that the saying 'til the cows come home' didn't really make sense, because the cows came home every evening!
And I can tell you that those cows in Boots would leave behind one hell of a mess! more…
